s_rene_d's Logboek, 12 sep 20

So... I’ve decided to try something new for the next week. I’m going to practice portion control without using my scale or any measuring devices. I hope to lesson my dependence on calorie and carb counting and build self discipline when it comes to eating. I also just want to shake things up a bit. Often, when I get too comfortable with something, I start slacking off. My goal is to keep challenging myself throughout this journey. Having said that, I know there are many benefits to recording what I eat so this will only be a week long challenge. I’m kinda nervous, but I think that’s a good thing because this a challenge after all 😂. Wish me luck!

If it makes a difference to you, there is an additional benefit to keeping track of what you eat. It helps you to be mindful of the actual nutritional value of the foods that you eat. It’s not just about calories, it’s about things like potassium, magnesium , vitamin B12. I don’t record all meals, I miss some because they are complicated recipes, or some mish mash I have created out of leftovers, but the health benefit of the foods I eat is very important to me.

Great point Kenna! One of the main reasons I don’t want to give up recording my meals entirely is that I am able to see the nutritional value of my WOE.
