Feeling pretty good today. The scale is still at 121. Geez, what does it take to see some action? I stopped at McDonald's for 2 Egg McMuffins and threw away the muffins. The nitrates in the ham were probably not the best thing, but I had to toss those expired Atkins shakes and didn't have much time. Oh, well. I also had a craving for a fried egg, specifically the yolk, which is funny because I never crave those. In fact, I've probably only had 1 or 2 Egg Mcmuffins in my entire life. Wierd.
Tending to save my veggies for my evening meal these days, and struggling getting in the minimum recommended on Induction. Yesterday was 10 grams so not too bad. I may have a salad with my lunch today.
C'mon scale...this week show me a loss...please.

Didn't get breakfast this morning because my strawberry Atkins shake was curdled. The expiration was Nov of last year and I bought it yesterday. Then I had a doctor appt and didn't have time to grab something else.
Had a decent lunch but need more veggies. I didn't get many yesterday and none so far today but plan on having some for dinner.
The scale is stagnant. Today is my official weigh in day. I started exactly a week ago on Atkins. I lost 4 lbs within the first 2 days, but now it is being stubborn and will not move. I weighed .4 less yesterday but was back up those .4 lbs today. So I'm at 121.2 and IT WON'T MOVE. I am so hoping my body is still just getting used to this. Also, was a bit sick Sat and Sun night so maybe that has stalled it too.

Yes, I'm slipping on waiting to weigh in once a week. It's a day soon to weigh in,but since it is a loss, I am itching to record it here. Tomorrow is my official weigh in day. After that initial 4 lbs I've lost, I haven't seen much budge in the scale, but hopefully that will change. I can live with 4 lbs loss even tho I'm sure it is just water weight at this point. Marching on!
Stomach feeling a bit iffy today but I'm hungry after last night's episode, so I'm going to chance it and have a good protein breakfast, unlike yesterday.
I'm having all kinds of creative ideas for meals going through my head. I am thinking a chicken broth based soup with scrambled egg and spinach would be yummy. Also love the Greek Lemon Soup I get at a local restaurant, that I might make, sans the rice. Me loves Greek food! I miss my dolmas though. I might be able to swing dolmas stuffed with lamb or ground beef instead of rice.
Thinking of chicken breast with monterrey jack or Swiss melted on top with bacon and guac.

I felt great today until this evening kept running to the restroom after 10 p.m. Thought the effect of the Atkins was constipation, which I had in the beginning but tonight having the opposite. Some possible explanations:
1. Too much fat and not enough protein today
2. Not eating a decent breakfast this morning and actually had cravings and feeling hungry before dinner, thus eating a lot of dinner...on plan, but lots of fat
3. Too much magnesium. I'm taking supplements but sure this is in my multivitamin too. Don't know if this could be a side effect of too much magnesium tho.
4. Husband had stomach virus last couple of days. I guess it's possible I got it from him. Yikes!

TGIF! I made it to Day 5! I am feeling so much better today. I think I'm past the ill side effects of the diet. Keeping up the water, broth, and supplements.
Not nuts about the dishes I've been making. Thinking I need to go with cuts of meat I'm used to and are no-brainers, like beef and chicken breasts and fish or shrimp. (KISS)
Looking forward to LaMad's again for lunch. Maybe this time a piece of meat with the Ceasar Salad as there was virtually no protein in the soup and salad alone yesterday. Having a craving for sausage and sauerkraut.
Scale is still at 121, but I should follow my own advice and not weigh every day. If I end up at 121 on my official weigh-in day, I will have lost 4 lbs in a week. I'll take it!
4:30 pm - Feeling great today. No cravings. Just had a mozzarella stick and half an avocado with salt and pepper for a snack. Having a bit of a sweet tooth but have some of Sugar Free Sheila's fudge at home. I can do this!
