hello everyone,
first journal entry and I am bit nervous to make mistakes (I am french but now live in the US so please excuse any grammar mistakes) rough night i kept waking up hungry ... any advices would be wecome :-) i am tryong to stay between 1000 and 1200 calories and train 1 hour (running) daily (always have for the last 15 years) in the last year I gained 10 pounds.

1000-1200 calories seem so low with 1 hour of exercise a day. Maybe your body lowered your metabolism? I am still new at this also so I don’t have a lot of advice to offer except for to log all of your food for a week without dieting to see where your calories are at normally and what type of food you are eating. Then make small adjustments from there.

if you are new dieting you should try 1500 a day. well I don't know how old are you, Male, female, your height??

Hi I am new too! You could increase your fiber intake which would decrease your hunger.

I would add more vegetables. 2 to 3 cups: chopped peppers, onions, tomatoes, lettuces, cabbage and kale. They would add about 100 more calories, but the vitamins and minerals will help to keep you from waking up in the night. 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day would be a reasonable goal.

Chewing gum really helps me to NOT eat junk food.

You may want to put equal distances of time between meals... works for me.

look up intermittent fasting. I'm doing that with a large salad with chicken almost every day... the morning hungry almost disappeared after a week...

my wife got snack information from a nutrition expert that said snack on cucumbers, pickles, or celery to help out, and drink lots of water. Stay away from diet sodas or fake sweeteners, unless it's stevia. Phenylanine screws with you.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and all of the good sdvices as soon as I am done with work I am heading to the grocery to buy more fiber, non sweeteneted drink and bunch of vegetables :-)
