last night I made incredible coleslaw, added ginger, garlic, radish, red onion, scallions, to a mix of red and regular shredded cabbage with Marie's coleslaw dressing. A few ounces of cold strip steak, applesauce, and cherry tomatoes. A small glass of orange juice finish off dinner. Now how do you ever figure out the nutrition numbers.

Figuring the nutrition numbers is a big, fat pain in FS. I have premium, and I still hate doing it. What you have to do is measure the total for all the ingredients and input in a meal. Then, measure a "serving". You can either calculate a percentage of the total calories and macros, or per cup. Put it all in your saved meals. The problem comes when it's time to log that meal in your diary, because it lists the separate ingredients instead of the dish, and you can't adjust the portion for the whole thing. You have to adjust each ingredient separately. 🙄 I usually just get frustrated and choose a similar dish already saved and use the one closest in calories to my dish. May the Force be with you.

For inputting mixed-food meal and calculating its total caloric and nutritional value, there is Saved Meals and the Cookbook (toggle all the way to the left of the Food search if using the app in the Food Diary). Each has its advantages and disadvantages. I was using the Cookbook for a while for things that work better as a Saved Meal, where things log in individually and you can tweak an ingredient. (Someone on FS, I don’t remember who, pointed out the Saved Meals work better for things like a repeated breakfast combination.) For cookbook, you enter ingredients as a recipe, say how many servings you get out of it, and FS will calculate the calories and nutritional label per serving for entering in the diary. The only thing you can adjust after that is the number of servings (though you can still edit your recipe in the cookbook). It’s a bit of work in the beginning but then it’s easy once in. Anyway, I hope this helps. I love FS!
