I had so many medical issues that I ended up not being able to move. I had been suffering with a Hiatel Hernia for 18 years, Nephrotic Syndrome for 14 years, Edema, high blood pressure and the list goes on and on. Things had gotten so bad that I couldn't even drive long distances or for 30-45 minutes without having to pull over and vomit because I was swelling around my rib cage and middle section. My doctors talked to me and decided that my best bet to get back healthy was to have surgery for my hernia and weight loss.
I had surgery and repaired the hernia and completed the weight loss surgery on October 11,2021. I am 1 1/2 weeks past past my surgery and I feel fantastic. I started this journey not knowing where it would take me. I no longer hurt for any of my medical issues. I am sleeping better and I have more energy. I have lost 34 lbs since I began this journey on September 26, 2021 and I am only getting stronger. A good friend of mine that used to work at the prison with me is now a personal trainer and he will be able to start helping me in 2 weeks.
I look forward to starting over and using this opportunity to eat healthier, exercise more and have a better life so that I can watch my unborn grandchild grown up and my son, who is a senior this year, graduate from high school and go to college next fall.
