While the loss on the scale feels great, of course, just as I wasn't that number when it was up, I'm still much more than it now! But it does give me hope to know that if I stay my course -- gluten, lactose & sugar aware, and 5:2 IF done practically & mindfully -- my set point won't be too far from where I am currently. As they say, only time will tell. So, onward (but hopefully not upward?!?), this lab rat goes in her study of one!
Spoiled me has booked a "take care of me" day today before the holiday craziness resumes on Weds. I got most of the shopping done yesterday & tomorrow will pick up my Whole Foods order, prepare the dishes I'm making & set the table. Then on the big day, I'll just have to roast the turkey & heat all the sides. Last year, the period from Thanksgiving through New Years were a real struggle for me & my sugar demon. I'm hoping & working to make sure that doesn't happen again, using this past weekend as the first steps in a healthier, mindful direction.
But before I'm off to my day for me -- paddle tennis this morning then mani/pedi & my health coach this afternoon -- I'll pray…
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever in the next. Amen.
And through this one day and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so grateful today for each of spectacular you, my family & IRL friends, having both boys home, slightly warmer temps in the northeast which should make my outdoor paddle tennis more fun, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love including an "all about me" day today! xoxox
