Congratulations girl! I hope you went back to your maiden name! That is one thing I wish I would have done after getting divorced. Here I am 25 years later with my X husbands last name because I was too lazy to change it back. Now it’s too late to go back, had this last name for way too long already, half my life and most of my adult life and it’s such a pain! Anyway, new chapter in your life, time to move forward! Yay!!🎊🎉

All the best for this new chapter. Remember to shake hands, the game is played but you may meet again socially and it's always important to be able to get along. I know I had to do more negotiating with the husband after the breakup than before, because we have children. If you can't communicate during the marriage, guess what you have to learn how to do after... :D oh man the irony. Anyway, just remember, grace, class, give them the benefit of all doubts and give a lot of latitude for their feelings. Men get a bit feral but will come right if you are generous and magnanimous towards them. Never be cross with him for returning kids late - they're safe with him. Never stop him from seeing them. You will value his input in their late teens and twenties. Fathers are amazing at doing things like getting sons jobs. saving daughters from bad boyfriends. Value and encourage their relationships and the special bonds you can help them form will be incredibly rewarding. I know this is terrible to say at this time. I know I just wanted the ex to die in a blazing inferno.... but I'm glad I held myself, and it also encouraged him to hold HIMself. :) Soz if this is completely off base. I don't know if you have kids or not!
