RN16's Logboek, 09 nov 22

I went on a 2 hour walk today, but an hour and 15 mins in my left hip started hurting then the right, but the left hit was hurting the worse. I ended up having to slow down an hour and a half in and basically limped back to my vehicle. That's what I get from being hard headed. The Dr told me to walk only an hour and like always I pushed myself and now my body is sick of me and pushing back. Tomorrow I will only walk an hour. On another note, I'm enjoying this time off of work. I'm less stressed, I'm staying hydrated, I'm exercising more. It got me thinking and I don't think I'll be in the ER much longer. Next year I'm going to look into other options. I'm tired of having a stressful job on top of stressful life, not able to drink much at work, we don't get a lunch and this job is just destroying my body physically, emotionally and mentally. I'm going to look into options of maybe leaving bedside nursing and do something outpatient, but I still need to get paid descent.

Be careful to not overdo. It actually can put you behind if you have to take a break to recuperate which gets discouraging.

Thanks y'all. I just saw these comments. The next day I walked for only an hour and it was better. No pain. I guess I need to listen to the Dr. Lol. I am going to listen, because I want to get better ASAP. It's frustrating not being able to do lower body or other exercises at the gym and I have to use my PAL all this time I'm off to get paid, because dummy me decline short term disability last year. Once I run out of PAL then no pay and my benefits will change and they'll make me get Cobra ins. It is nice being off though, because I'm tired of the stress of that place. When I do leave the ED full time I'll probably stay prn just to keep my skills up.

A health insurance benefit is one of big reasons why I don't want to leave my job. I have been in FMLA since January this year and I started paying for COBRA from October. I am still fighting with negative consequences from surgeries. So, I cannot imagine my life without a health insurance. Take care of yourself well.
