I'm going to meet my new patient today for hospice and am very saddened but excited at the same time. These precious people have so much to offer us.

That is awesome. Hospice is so difficult... I completely understand what you mean.

I'm just kinda relieved when I'm assigned older people, you know like in their late eighties or early nineties rather than a child. I've been volunteering with the hospice since December and I really do love it although it can be very sad and demanding at times. I just wanted to get some experience in the Social Work field before graduation bc I'm not sure which field I want to go into. Social Work is such a huge field, you know?!

I remember in Medical school they said I was going to be volunteering on the cardiac wing and my daughter just had heart surgery, I literally cried right when they told me.. but thank god they sent me to adults rather than pediatrics. I would not have been able to do it, at all! Have a good day, and congrats on getting experience in before graduating.
