Nutricali's Logboek, 13 mei 20

Is anyone else taking vitamins or supplements? Do they work for you? I used to pick up random things from health shops but after seeing a specialist I started following a routine and I feel great! It’s amazing how much vitamins affect your energy and mood

I've never taken supplements as I think you can gain all the vitamins and nutrients from a balanced diet. Unless I was advised by a doctor specifically of course. Many supplements a clever marketing when you'd get much more from a piece of fruit or fish I think. Just my opinion though 🙂

I have been taking multi vitamins and iron tablet and cod liver oil every morning without fail for many years before losing weight. Not been ill for many years touch wood and no aches and pains so seems to work for me.

They're certainly making some money from you. All these vits and mins are in our foods, just need to eat the right ones which you can do even when you're dieting.

You’re right Ruudspark, I took all my advice from a doctor, I wouldn’t trust the advice of any non-professional (including myself.)

Tracey, luckily I get them all very cheap. I wouldn’t pick them up in store, they’re too expensive. If you can get everything you need from food, that’s the best! There are a few things I can’t get due to my diet, so they’re a great help for me however no two persons needs are the same so getting guidance really is key

Like Dave I've been lucky and not had any health issues either. Perhaps we share one vital supplement..... a motorcycle 😅

Yes, I have hypothyroidism so certain vitamins I’m depleted in and has a massive effect on my health, I take high dose vit D, COD liver oil with vit A, iron 210mcg, inulin, B12, magnesium, and a mix for potassium selenium etc, probiotic🤣🤣🤣I rattle

Haha ruudspark, I’m missing that multivitamin! Sounds like you and Dave have cracked it. Joanne, I’m glad they’ve helped you :) I take B vitamins as well and I read that they really help with stress and mood swings, which is great for me 😂

I agree with Ruudspark, most vitamins can be taken from your foods eating a variety of balanced foods if your diet is to reduce your calories and lose weight that is , I take multi vitamins daily and extra supplements to give me that extra push in the gym and reduce muscle ache, I take BCAA’s which a supplement question do they work? I been taking them for over 3 years now and I seem to get results but I don’t have anything to compare it against so I couldn’t say yes they do work but on the other hand would I have got the same results if I’d not taken them truth is no one really knows because they isn’t enough proof but on the other hand it’s not going to do any harm trying 👍

Ruudspark. You 100 % right there... ride a motorcycle and you will be in good health. Must be right as I have rode motorcycle trials off since about 7 year old and on roads since 16 on a Yamaha Fizzy and several Cbr 600s. Hardly ever ill. But I am still going to keep taking my vits and cod liver oil. I only get the ones from tesco or lidl there not expensive and it work for me. Missing my motorcycling loads at the moment as the ACU have prohibited all events :(
