I am in a real funk this week. Thank god it is almost over 😑 Only 2 gym visits and my calories are too high due to all the quick snacks.
In other news my company is restructuring. My position has been eliminated in 75% of the stores. When my store closes in May/June I will be laid off. I am trying to come to terms with that 😞 Maybe I’ll just pack up my kids and our stuff and move to a city I really want to live in... I hate Miami and there are very few opportunities for me here 😒

Come to Pa Dawnie 😊 You get all 4 seasons, Hershey is huge, not just the park but the outlets, the chocolate factories, the park, Hershey Med Center. There’s a lot of jobs here in general.

Awww thanks guys 🥰🥰 You are all helping me stay optimistic! Also, I consider myself deeply blessed!! Even though I will lose my job, I won’t be losing it for a bit. So many people got their pink slip without any notice at all! I know that sort of thing happens all the time. It’s so devastating. I’ve spent a very long time in financial crisis. I don’t want to do it again but I know that I can get through it and that is at least a little bit comforting.

You guys are making me excited to think about all the places I could go! I am a customer service manager. My resume is not that impresive; I don’t have a bachelors degree (half way there though) and only have about a year and half experience in management But I do have great references!

Dawn, you mentioned there might be a chance of relocation within your company. If that is something you'd be interested in, be proactive. Meet with your HR people or Mgt. and discuss your options. Polish up your resume & research potential employers...in Miami and elsewhere if you seriously think you'd like to relocate. Contact your unemployment office & inquire about assistance in finding a new job.
I was in Retail Mgt for 30 years and was in your shoes more than once. A couple of times I was a single parent when it happened. I know it's scary & frustrating but try to stay positive.

I'm pushing for Texas, lady. Especially Houston. We have the University of Houston (alumni here!) with satellite campuses. A very diverse, tier one university...come bring the hours you have! We have excellent sports teams, great symphony orchestra, theatre, tons of wonderful restaurants, the NASA area, Galveston if you are homesick for the beach, and the Houston RODEO. On top of that, a bustling economy with lots of job growth. Consider it, please? In my prayers. XOXO
