Autophagy, to clean out old unneeded cells is desirable, and the activator is known to be fasting. However, recearch indicate that fasting is not needed to activate Autophagy. Being in Ketosis is sufficient.

For me, it has been very helpful too see people reporting high blood sugar while fasting. Secondly Dr Bernstein consider it important for diabetic to have set meal times. Thirdly, people wearing constant blood sugar meters find very stable blood sugar readings in carnivore mode.
I've put this into practice the last few days, and it all rings true to me. Should bring hope to whomever feel fasting-fatigue.

Hi there! Just trying to understand what you are saying about fasting and type II diabetics. Do you mean you shouldn't fast bc blood sugar goes too high without regular meals?

Yup I think I agree. I wore a CGM.for week and my blood sugar barely moved! 👍

@ny_shelly, no, that's not correct. Insulin levels stay low and stabilize with fewer "feeds" throughout the day. I find that IF and LCHF keeps my BS *much* lower than eating frequent low-cal/low-fat meals & snacks.

Autophagy is a different process apart from the diabetic disease process.

Thanks for this! That's good news that we can get the effects of autophagy without needing to fast :) A person can only fast so many days in a year anyway :) I will keep trying to fast, as much as I can (mentally I can only do it for limited amounts of time), because I also want the 'renewal' effects of human growth hormone (HGH) https://idmprogram.com/fasting-and-growth-hormone-physiology-part-3/
