Good morning, Wannabe Mike! I say, if the mood hits you ... go longer! Can't hurt anything and it can help a lot! I haven't been able to do this yet. One day.

I agree with you. Your reminder is helping me. I can't eat that movie popcorn. it will take me a week to get back down. Thanks. Being diabetic.. I understand the things that hurt, but sometimes I eat them anyway.

Lately, I've had trouble doing a 24. I support you! I'd like to be like that guy from 1965 who fasted for just over a year. I don't need to go that long, but five days would be nice.

I agree with the modified food not being good for us. Also, many of us don't process food the same way as we age. I've been on my own journey of age vs weight. You have insulin reactions; I have arthritic reactions, most of which can be controlled with food. No wheat, no sugar, and I feel better. It's so simple! Doing it can be hard, though, because we have been conditioned to eat certain things. Retrain the brain!

Nice post Mike. I came to FS for medical reasons...reversing a short track to type 2 diabetes (at the "young age" of 55) due to my poor eating habits overwhelming my good exercise and activities. All good now, but I am sure not taking good health for granted...still a work in progress. By the way, thanks again so much for motivating me last fall to by that road bike...I'm hooked 🚴♂️🚵♂️

Also, Strava was a great suggestion too...keeps me motivated to beat my own (or others) past efforts, a little self competition is good!

Steven...I’m so happy that your enjoying that new set of wheels...can’t wait to see the excitement you have when your setting your bike up on a trainer and zwifting...I just don’t miss getting layered up..heading out in 20 degree weather or colder..to do a morning ride...yes I now have that choice...but being inside with 2 fans on me as I sweat away...just makes me smile...

When I think back over the years I now realize how hard I worked to abuse my body with all those carbs and sugar, both intenionally and unintentionally because the "food" companies lied to us just for bigger profits. So many of us have paid fir it, not only at the cash register but with our health. Now we are trying to reverse the damages as we have gotten older and hopefully wiser.
