baskington's Logboek, 30 sep 18

ug, woke up very hungry this morning. yesterday at the last minute my husband wanted steak and I only had mine. So we shared, since he doe not like fat, he got the tenderloin part of the ribeye and I got the fat. that definitely messed up my macro's and I attempted to get enough protein by adding 3 eggs. So I ended up being low on protein and high on fat. net result,,,,one pound gain and hungry this morning even though I ate to slightly over my calories yesterday by 10!

This morning my readings have all been way different then yesterday. my ketones are lower yesterday after eating I was 2.2 and 2.9. today my fasting ketone was 2.6 and after eating 1.8 after one hour and 1.3 after 3 hours. My glucose readings are messed up, the morning fasting one turned out fine 4.3 but the rest of my readings the blood is not filling the strip even though I have a big drop to use. it is like it is clogged. I have a new bunch to use so I will use the last one later to see if it works.

So, this tells me my body functions much better on more protein and less fat. Having a very basic diet it is much easier to figure things without having a ton of food complicating things. I basically eat steak and drink water. variation yesterday was adding eggs. I had eggs the day before too and it did not mess up things. I had much more protein and was well over my calories for the day too.


Learning to tweek things! More protein, less fat and keep my calories up.

Great job analyzing all that! I hate waking up hungry because if I eat something then I just keep eating all day.

I feel like my body doesn’t like so much fat either. Which is funny since I’m literally on a high fat diet 😜 I do feel hungrier when my protein is 30+ though.

oh I did not have a problem with eating all day, but I did eat early 2;30 and I will have a little something later to help with my sleeping Nikeit.

Crash If I overstuff myself I will get a slight bit of cravings, but it is manageable. I think that may be spiking the insulin. I did it as an experiment for someone that was definitely overeating everyday and gaining weight. He could never feel satisfied even though he was stuffed. I reported back to him that overeating definitely caused a spike in cravings. Do you think it is your body telling you it needs more food or just cravings?? I am very much a protein person and it totally satisfies me when I have enough. generally I need a couple hundred grams of fatty steak. around 40 to 60 protein a meal. I eat twice. I do not get hungry for hours. Everyone is different here. I finally got the darn meter to give me a correct glucose with my last sticky thing. Gosh I don't like poking myself. 1 hour after eating well, 1.9 ketone and 4.7 glucose. I guess that is normal after an hour??

That was 30 as a percentage. Looking back on when I make wings and ribs; I really over eat. Until my stomach hurts. Maybe it’s just because they taste so good and I have not learned to not binge or maybe it’s because they are a food I use to gorge myself on and are a trigger. ☹️😒 Either way, not good.

oh, I can see that, I thought you meant 30 gr's a meal. Yes when my husband makes wings I eat about 1200 calories worth, and it doesn't take much. good old fashioned deep fried chicken wings with franks hot sauce and butter! I don't do that much any more. I did not realize how fattening it was! Franks has about 1 carb per tablespoon.
