baskington's Logboek, 26 sep 18

ug! I had to get creative tonight when I discovered I was under calories again and had no unthawed steak. Had to mix some cream in some eggs, both items that I am less than tolerate to, in an attempt to make up the difference. I was going to work out twice today but I want to sleep tonight which I will not do if I am too far under calories. I am low enough. may take a bite or two of my husbands pork chops.

Jenjabba I use to weigh before and after cooking and then add butter to replace the missing fat. But that is so rediculous. I usually just buy lean meat. That is basically what you are getting after it is cooked

I weigh after I cook my steaks and since my steaks are very fatty I use the aldi steak it is higher in fat then a lot of others. and I definitely drink my juice on the plate, I use the excess in the pan later to cook something else and get a little extra that way too.

you don't make cream gravy from the leftover fat Crash?? I can be similar to sausage gravy if you season it right. I make some spicey chicken tenders and use the drippings to make the spicey gravy. one of my husbands favorite meals. Nice and lite but definitely not low calorie. LOL!

Umm ground beef gravy doesn’t sound appetizing. If it were from steak then I’d be all over that!!!

I've looked for recipes and they all have heavy cream and xanthamgum and spices. I'm going to try making it without the cream. Maube I'll use cream around the holidays

baskington Eat fat first. That's new. Will try that. Why not. Did something new yesterday. Added fat to ground meat, and the burgers turned out heavenly soft and juicy. Very potent appetite supressor too. Will play around with fat:protein ratios a bit to see what gives best results. Fat is cheap, so if higher fat gives better meals, control, wellbeing, and lower grocery bills, it's a win.

that is what works best Diddlee, playing around with your macro's to see what works best for you. I have a harder time trying not to lose weight then maintaining right now. but I do have to lose some fat around my middle.

I do use cream to make the gravies but I don't add the gum stuff. Just seasonings. we don't mind it not being thick, just tastey.
