For people that have been eating a very clean diet for a while, you may start to discover certain foods can effect the way you feel, or cause certain symptoms. Many times with all the products we ate before we never really noticed. Or we started the diet to clean up because we did not feel the best we could be and wanted to make a change.


I have never cared to eat veggies, just never felt comfortable with them. Sure I loved my potato's but I don't remember anymore if they liked me.

Salicylate intolerance can cause a ton of symptoms from mild to really strong ones. Most veggies do have some salicylates in them, but some veggies and fruits are higher than others.


Never been comfortable eating a lot of meat?? I think there are a few people that find they feel better eating more veggies and less meat products. Histamine intolerance may be the issue. Aged meat and other products tend to be very high in this and can cause you issues.

Kenna posted about Fructans and this also can cause distress to your system.

Many foods that I am sensitive to are on all these food lists, so it is hard to pin point exactly which I am most likely to fall into. Those that have a limited reaction to one or two items on any of these lists may find relief by researching a little.

I had to switch recently to a very strict food list, in other words I am just eating meat which I do tolerate well and letting my immune system settle down. Once I have had some time without symptoms I can start the testing to which foods I tolerate better. Mine is an extreme case and this flare up is pretty bad. But now that all these items are off my plate so to speak, the weight is falling off me faster. and this is not intentional as I am within 3 pounds of my goal weight.

This may not effect many of you, but I felt the urge to share a little of what I have learned on this journey and over the past decades of dealing with this personally. My doctors just knew my allergy tests showed I was reactive to just about everything. No one talked about the three possibilities I listed above.

Wow it is pretty crazy how our bodies can react so differently. My ex-husband always told me that he felt sick after eating fruit. I thought he was just weird. Turns out that is a really thing lol

yep, sometimes it is just one thing and sometimes it is groups of things. I never noticed in the beginning, just one day I was in pain and foggy minded. it creeps up on you.

Thank you for this! It makes more sense now as to why I can’t eat certain things I use to always eat. My parents think I exaggerate but there’s some things I can no longer tolerate & I thought I was just going crazy. Wow I am amazed now gonna go read more deep into it 😊

I am glad it will help Nayelissizzles, I know I am not the only one that gets some symptoms from different foods. Mine went all haywire because I added so many new and healthy things to my plan. It just hit me like a ton of bricks, but a few weeks of conservative eating it will all settle down.

thank you for sharing. I've noticed recently how certain foods effect me and have been keeping a journal. when we know better, we can do better.
